Higher ed instructional Design:
From IN-Person TO ONline LEarning
Instructional materials that have been successful in an in-person classroom may not be successful in an online format. The syllabus for an introductory government course was adapted from an in-person, traditional 12-week course to an 8 week online course. In order to do this effectively, learning outcomes were adapted to be measurable, content was "chunked" to enhance student learning, and assignments and activities were aligned to specific course outcomes. The online course created also implements the necessary assignments to foster a productive learning community as well as create true, transformative learning through applicable, authentic-based assessments. Below is an example of a modified course syllabus as well as one fully designed course module.
