This unit of instruction uses the DDD-E Model for incorporating multimedia in student-centered instruction. DDD-E includes four phases: Decide, Design, Develop, and Evaluate. In this unit, students will identify and apply the necessary components in creating a strong claim or argument. They will form an argument/opinion about a topic of their choice and will structure appropriate supporting reasons. After outlining and drafting a deeper written analysis in a multi-paragraph essay format, they will use it as the basis for which to study, brainstorm, and plan a way to present their points using multimedia elements effectively and creatively. Students will explore and choose the tool that works best with their argument and will develop a presentation piece to inform and convince classmates.
