Multimedia Tools Tutorial: Gimkit Live
Effective instructional designers skillfully evaluate the appropriate use of technologies as instructional tools through their process of facilitating student-centered, differentiated learning experiences. This tutorial overviews a new and engaging classroom game-show platform called Gimkit Live that I have seen success with in my teaching endeavors. The video explains the features and applications of the tool and how to implement it effectively for greater student engagement and learning.

Adaptive Learning Tool Tutorial: IXL
IXL is a personalized learning platform for K-12 students and offers a variety of subjects. IXL can be used in a classroom setting to determine individual student goals and recommend practice that each student needs. Students answer only the necessary number of questions for mastery, and if they are not showing progress, additional materials or paths are offered. Teachers can also analyze real-time data to assist students.

Innovative Professional Development Tool Tutorial: Ted-ED
Educators must consistently work to develop their instructional practices, and many websites and programs provide resources for teachers to discover lesson materials or hone their own teaching skills. TED-Ed is a learning network for instructors in that they can browse many innovative videos and view teacher created lessons to implement in their classrooms. This tool can be used to engage students in an interesting or to create professional development for educators using the bank of videos provided.

Tutorial videos have become one of the most effective forms of self-education. After researching and selecting a digital tool that would allow learners to demonstrate their findings, I created a tutorial that walks others through a step by step set-up and recommended applications for the popular education tool, Flipgrid.
